Departing Jenolan Caves on Saturdays & Sundays (or from the Jenolan State Forest Campground for shorter walking), the bus arrives in Katoomba to connect with trains to Sydney or dropping off to local accommodation places in Blackheath, Medlow Bath, Katoomba and Leura.

The 6 - Foot Track

Following an 1884 heritage horse track, this is a challenging three-day walk from Katoomba to Jenolan Caves (or vice versa). Looking for an exhilarating adventure that will give your mind and body a hard yet exhilarating workout? The dynamic Six Foot track packs it all into a three-day hike for enthusiastic bushwalkers.

Winding through state forests and Blue Mountains National Park, this historic track takes in heritage sites, heath, woodlands, and rainforest, cascading waterfalls and wild rivers. The walk will take you through the Megalong Valley and village, cross a unique swing bridge and give you several opportunities for excellent overnight camping. Whilst only 45km walkers need to be aware that there are steep sections in this hike.  

Be Prepared - please make sure you are carrying all necessary supplies. Check links below for what the hike entails and what you need to bring. FREE Personal Emergency Locating Beacons (EPIRB) can be organised through NPWS or local Police.
